Job Description:  Responsible for troubleshooting and performing journey-level repairs on gas and diesel engines and related systems for vehicles including those more than 10,000 lbs. G.V.W. and, as assigned, may drive a school bus.

Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include activities such as performing preventative maintenance on buses and other District vehicles; conducting vehicle emissions tests; diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, braking, and air conditioning problems with vehicles including those more than 10,000 lbs. G.V.W; Diagnoses and repairs electrical, mechanical, braking, and air conditioning problems in vehicles including those more than 10,000 lbs. G.V.W. and completes related documentation; Performs vehicle emissions tests; and serves as a backup bus driver; Performs school bus safety inspections in accordance with State and other government standards.
Job Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, vocational training in an approved automotive program, and two years experience repairing gas and diesel engines and related systems for vehicles less than and more than 10,000 lbs. G.V.W. are required; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
