The Data Analyst at Ampacity is a technology-focused role responsible for building trusted reporting, analytics, and data assets that support multiple business functions. This position partners with stakeholders to translate business needs into well-defined data requirements, then delivers high-quality dashboards, automated reporting, and actionable analysis. The Data Analyst will work heavily within modern cloud and integration environments, ensuring data is accurate, scalable, timely, and easy for teams to use in decision-making.

Pay Range: $70,000 - $80,000

What You'll Do
  • Serve as a technology-forward analytics partner, turning questions and pain points into scalable data solutions.
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, semantic models, and automated reporting that drive operational and financial visibility.
  • Use SQL to query, validate, and reconcile data from multiple sources, ensuring consistency and accuracy across reporting outputs.
  • Support and validate data pipelines and integrations across cloud data platforms, ERP data, and third-party systems connected via APIs.
  • Standardize and document KPI definitions, dataset logic, and reporting
  • methodology to create a reliable "single source of thruth"
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain Power BI reports (executive scorecards, operational dashboards, drill-through analysis, and self-service reporting views).
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for analysis, reporting datasets, and data validation/reconciliation.
  • Partner with key departmental stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify definitions, and prioritize reporting
  • Work with cloud data services (e.g., storage, orchestration, and analytics tooling) to support data ingestion, transformation, and refresh cadence.
  • Assist with data integration validation using an integration platform (iPaaS), including testing and troubleshooting data issues end-to-end.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and investigation work (variance explanations, trend drivers, exception reporting) and translate findings into clear
  • Create and maintain documentation for metrics, data sources, refresh logic, and dashboard usage.
  • This role will evolve over time as business needs change.

 

What You'll Bring
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python (or R); advanced Excel skills required
  • 2+ years building Power BI dashboards and automated reports using DAX, Power Query, and SQL
  • Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and integrating data via APIs and cross-system connections
  • Strong analytical skills: forecasting, trend analysis, data mining, and anomaly detection
  • Excellent communication skills-translating business needs into technical solutions and presenting insights to non-technical stakeholders
  • Nice to have: Familiarity with Azure data services such as Azure Blob Storage and Azure Data Factory (or similar cloud ETL/storage tools)
