Position Overview
The Quality Control Lab Technician I supports cement manufacturing operations by collecting samples and performing routine chemical and physical testing on raw materials, intermediate materials, and finished cement products. This entry-level role focuses on accurate sample preparation, testing, documentation, and communication of results in accordance with ASTM standards and internal Capitol Cement procedures.
What You'll Do
  • Collect samples of raw materials, intermediate materials, and finished cement products following established procedures.
  • Prepare samples and perform routine chemical and physical laboratory tests in accordance with standard methods.
  • Accurately record and document test results, observations, and sample information.
  • Communicate test results, sample issues, or equipment concerns to senior QC staff or supervision.
  • Assist with maintaining laboratory equipment, tools, vehicles, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
  • Abide by and support all company, plant, and MSHA safety policies and procedures.

  • Ability to follow direction from QC Technician II, QC Technician III, and supervision.
  • Demonstrated reliability through consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
