The Third Judicial District is accepting applications for a service-oriented Court Operations Associate to join the Mower County Court Administration Team.
In this fast-paced and detail-oriented role, you will be responsible for processing cases and assisting court customers and justice partners in order to provide justice through a system that assures equal access for the fair and timely resolution of cases and controversies.
The work location for this position is the Mower County Courthouse located at 202 2nd Ave NE, Suite 3, Austin, MN 55912.
What Youย Willย Doย
The following are examples of major job duties expected of this position:ย
- Perform the full range of court operation work that may involve responsibility for a specific area of court case processingย ย
- Perform a variety of advanced clerical functions and multiple case typesย
- Provide assistance toย attorneys, parties, self-represented litigants, judges, and the public by responding to a variety of questions in-person, over the phone, by mail, and/or electronicallyย
- Provide courtroom support by working with judges, court reporters, and other justice partnersย
- Review, enter, record, and update case information using an electronic case processing systemย and related applications and equipmentย
- Schedule andย maintainย court calendarsย
- Receive, process, and receipt payments due to the courtย
- Attend court andย assistย byย calling cases, takingย notes,ย and handling documents in the courtroomย
- May perform the duties ofย an Electronic Recording Equipment Operator (EREO) includingย recording and monitoring court proceedingsย

- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of relevant job experience or greater, which may include but is not limited to customer service, administrative work, office, and clerical work
Nice to Haveย
- Certificate or degree in a related fieldย
- Considerable knowledge of court procedures, policies, and records management
- Experienceย working with the court's electronic case processing system

- Ability to learn rules of court, state statutes, case processing, policies, and procedures of the area of court assigned
- Knowledge of basic math
- Skill in navigatingย difficult situationsย and resolving conflict in a respectful and courteous manner
- Ability to effectively support court users who have limited experience with the judicial system
- Ability toย provideย exceptional customer service while working under pressure in a high volume, fast-paced environmentย
- Skill in the operation of a personal computer, including electronic case management system and related applications and equipment
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately and in compliance with all applicable court rules, policies, and statutes
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Well organized, detail oriented, and analytical
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
- This AFSCME-represented position is located in the Mower County Courthouse at 201 2nd Ave NE, Suite 3, Austin, MN 55912.
- Work is performed primarily in an office-setting, a public counter and/or in a courtroom.
- The expected hiring range for external hires for this position is $21.45 to $28.45/hr, based on qualifications, with a full future earning potential of $44,787-$59,404 annually.ย
- This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.ย
- Core business hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30 pm. Initial days off: Saturday, Sunday, and Court Designated Holidays.
