Job Title: CACFP Food Service Assistant- Dinner Program
Reports To: Director of Food Services
Organization: Tejano Center
Division: RYSS Texas Public Schools
POSITION SUMMARY
The CACFP Food Service Assistant supports the daily operation of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) dinner program. This position assists with preparing, serving, documenting, and cleaning up meals provided to students participating in after-school programming.
The Food Service Assistant helps ensure meals are served safely, efficiently, and in accordance with CACFP requirements, food safety standards, and organizational procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience
  • Previous food service, school nutrition, cafeteria, childcare, or related experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a school or youth program setting is preferred but not required.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to maintain accurate meal counts and basic program documentation.
  • Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude
