Junior Business Cost Analyst

Position Summary

The Junior Business Cost Analyst is responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and communicating costs for our internal business functions. This role supports the Customer Service and Purchasing team by tracking cost-saving opportunities, monitoring supply chain cost impacts, and providing data-driven insights to our Customer Service and Supply Chain teams.

The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, business acumen, and experience working with large amounts of information.

Cost Analysis & Reporting

  • Maintain cost-tracking tools, reports, and cost models used to support business decisions.
  • Assist in evaluating the impact of cost changes on company operations and customer pricing.
  • Prepare recurring reports and summaries for management review.
  • Business & Supply Chain Analytics
  • Analyze and maintain data related to inventory, transportation, supplier performance, service levels, and profitability.
  • Support forecasting, planning, and business review activities through data analysis and reporting.
  • Cross-Functional Support
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Purchasing, Finance, Operations, and Logistics teams to provide analytical support.
  • Assist with customer cost-impact evaluations and related communications.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Analytics, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • 2+ years of experience in supply chain analysis, cost analysis, financial analysis, business analytics, or a related role.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP functions, and data analysis tools.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
