The Specialist is an integral part of Latham’s Global Finance team. This role will be responsible for coordinating the activities of the billing process and performing billing duties with varying levels of complexity, while preparing invoices for finalization in line with internal and external regulations and legislation, including ValueAdded Tax (VAT), Solicitors’ Accounts Rules under the Criminal Finances Act, and applicable money laundering regulations. This role will be located in our Houston office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence. 


Other key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and analyzing client billing requests
  • Creating, editing, and submitting bills in accordance with firm and client requirements, reviewing proformas, handling corrections, and coordinating ebilling
  • Ensuring successful delivery of invoices and coordinating with revenue and ebilling teams to resolve rejections and reductions
  • Generating and reviewing proformas from 3E for informational and billing purposes
  • Utilizing computerized billing and payable software modules to complete billing processes, research issues, and provide information to customers
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
