Billing Clerk

Location: Hybrid
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Pay: $20–$25/hour, depending on experience

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Clerk to join our accounting team. This position is responsible for receiving and accurately accounting for customer payments while also reviewing invoices and transactions to ensure proper accounting procedures are followed.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build their accounting career. Candidates with little to no experience may be considered at approximately $20/hour if they demonstrate strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and aptitude for working with numbers. Candidates with relevant billing or accounting experience may earn up to $25/hour.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, record, and account for payments received for goods and services
  • Review invoices for accuracy and completeness
  • Verify billing information and supporting documentation
  • Ensure payments are properly applied to customer accounts
  • Research and resolve discrepancies between invoices, payments, and accounting records
  • Perform detailed reviews of billing and payment transactions
  • Serve as an internal auditor by identifying errors and ensuring proper accounting procedures are followed
  • Maintain accurate customer and payment records
  • Reconcile billing and payment information as needed
  • Assist with researching outstanding balances and payment discrepancies
  • Work with internal departments and customers to resolve billing or payment questions
  • Ensure transactions are properly recorded in the company's ERP system

Qualifications

  • Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office is preferred
  • Experience with Syteline ERP is a plus

  • Rate will be based on experience and qualifications

Hybrid – 3 days in the office
