REPORTS TO: Director, Community Impact
STATUS: Part-Time; Non-Exempt (March - October)

Your role as a 50/50 Raffle Sales Ambassador:
As an entry level 50/50 Raffle Sales Ambassador, you will be responsible for meeting the department sales goals for the Padres Foundation set by your lead. During Padres home games ambassadors will connect with hundreds of fans through the sale of 50/50 raffle tickets and spread the message that half the proceeds will be awarded to the raffle winner and the other half help support the Padres Foundation's initiatives in children's health, education, youth baseball/softball, binational efforts, and the military community.
All the responsibilities we will trust you with:
• Exemplifying our Petco Park Promise: CARE, CONNECT, EXCEED by proactively welcoming all guests to the ballpark and consistently striving to exceed all guests' expectations
• Responsibility for hitting sales goals for the Padres Foundation (sale is determined by your lead based on opposing team, number of fans in ballpark, Padres promotions, etc.)
• Sell 50/50 raffle tickets to Petco Park guests directly at their seats, as a roaming raffle seller around the ballpark, and at stationary kiosks
• Operating and maintaining high quality condition of the 50/50 raffle equipment
• Accurately handling credit card transactions daily
• Avidly communicating the Padres Foundation mission statement, pillars, and programs
• Avidly communicating the 50/50 Raffle rules and procedures to potential participants
• Continuously improving your understanding and knowledge of the ballpark, baseball, and the Padres to engage and assist our guests
• Caring for our ballpark by reporting security, safety, and housekeeping issues to event management staff via appropriate communication channels
• Working collaboratively to create a positive and memorable ballpark and/or venue experience
• Assisting with the maintenance, cleanliness and organization of the 50/50 raffle room and supplies
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most:
• Being consistent, punctual, and have reliable attendance
• Being energetic, self-motivated, and a natural conversation starter who is comfortable fundraising and selling in front of large crowds
• Being personable, enthusiastic, positive, and professional, with the ability to keep that same composure in a fast-paced large crowd environment
• Possessing a high degree of discretion, integrity, and accountability
• Having excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills
• Having the ability to meet sales goals
• Having the ability to meet sales goals; previous sales experience is preferred
• Having the ability to quickly learn, operate, and troubleshoot technology-driven handheld, portable devices
• Having the ability to work well with others in a collaborative, respectful manner to create a positive and memorable ballpark and/or venue experience
• Being bi-lingual in English/Spanish is a plus but not necessary
You will be required to meet the following:
• Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment
• Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time, up to the complete duration of shifts, during games and events, and in all inclement weather, including rain and/or direct sunlight; able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds
• Must be available to work a minimum of eighty percent (80%) of all baseball games during each calendar year, including one hundred percent (100%) of all baseball games scheduled for weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) with the exception of up to six (6) weekend events
• Must be available for the following "All Hands-on Deck" games - Opening Day, March 26th, and all home post-season games, which could be played in October/November
• Available to work flexible hours on a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
• As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check.
Salary and Additional Compensation:
Per the California pay transparency law, the pay rate for this position is $21.14 per hour. Part- time non-union employees are subject to the San Diego Living Wage Ordinance and rates will increase accordingly.
In addition to your hourly rate, the Padres offer PTO, employee discounts, appreciation, and recognition opportunities for this position.
