Job description

Structural Analysis Engineer - Entry Level / Associate

Boeing St. Louis is building the future creating innovative solutions that will define the next generation of aerospace. We are currently seeking Entry Level or Associate Structural Analysis Engineers to verify structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.

These positions are located in the Greater St. Louis region and support current and emerging aircraft programs as part of the Air Dominance division in Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS).

Positions will be located at one of the listed locations: Berkeley, MO; Hazelwood, MO; St. Louis, MO; St. Charles, MO; Mascoutah, IL.

Position Responsibilities:

Level 1

  • Perform limited structural analysis using well defined analysis tools to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications

  • Participate in various test activities substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied

  • Work under close supervision

Level 2

  • Perform basic structural analysis using well defined analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance

  • Support test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications

  • Define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied

  • Support in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements

  • Work under general supervision

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)

  • Level 2: 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

  • Experience performing hand calculations, using industry CAD system (NX/Teamcenter), FEM software (ABAQUS, PATRAN/NASTRAN, Stresscheck, Hyperworks)

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):

  • Experience with Boeing Analysis Tools (CAESAR, Lifeworks, Mechanica, Common Structures Workstation)

  • Structural analysis experience on military or commercial aircraft
