Summary/Objective:  The Industrial Machine System Jr Apprentice is responsible for learning various industrial maintenance practices through a 4000-hour apprenticeship program. Including, but not limited to Plant Safety, Blueprint reading, Repair and construct new components for machines, Machine assembly and maintenance, Trouble shooting of electrical and pneumatics systems, Trouble shooting of PLC and NC/CNC controls
 
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities: 
  1. Setup up and maintain automated and manual machines
  2. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on machines
  3. Log maintenance and repairs in a maintenance system
  4. Replace, repair and make new components for production equipment
  5. Pro-active team member working directly with experienced journeyman toolmakers, technicians and electrical engineers.
  6. Trade related course work required to total 288+ hours.
 "The responsibilities as defined are intended to serve as a general guideline for this position. Associates may be asked to perform additional tasks depending on strengths and capabilities" 
Required Experience:
  1. Must enjoy working with your hands. 
  2. Experience with saws, lathes, mills, and surface grinders is a plus  
  3. Experience with bench fittings and assembly of machinery or engines is a plus 
  4. Experience with PLCs and electrical troubleshooting is a plus 
  5. A high mechanical aptitude. Preferred score in the 67 percentiles on Bennett Mechanical test. 
  6. Above average math skills. 
  7. Must be a self-starter with strong leadership skills. 
  8. Must be willing to work in a high-decibel noise environment. 
  9. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs from floor to waist on a regular basis. 
  10. A track record of adhering to all applicable safety standards, rules, and regulations. 
Preferred Education: 
  1. High School Diploma or GED is required. 
  2. Vocational or trade school diploma is a plus. 
  3. Credit for past apprenticeship training & hours earned may be honored.
