Job description

Job Title:

Boat Assembly Technician

Reports To:

Assembly Manager

Summary:

The Boat Assembly Technician plays a key role in the production of high-end pontoon boats by assembling, installing, and inspecting a wide range of components including electrical, mechanical, and structural systems. This position requires strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, and the ability to work efficiently and safely within a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is flexible, dependable, and takes pride in producing high-quality craftsmanship that meets Evotti’s standards for performance and appearance.


Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, install, and inspect boat components such as electrical systems, furniture, hardware, and mechanical parts according to job travelers and build specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions to ensure accurate completion of assigned tasks.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot and correct assembly or fitment issues during production or final inspection.
  • Move between workstations and assist with multiple boat models as production needs require.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
  • Meet or exceed daily production targets while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, leads, and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and timely issue resolution.
  • Support other departments or special projects as needed to ensure on-time delivery of completed units.

Competencies:

  • Possesses a strong understanding of marine assembly methods, wiring diagrams, and component installation.

  • Able to effectively to shift production priorities or multiple boat models.
  • Can work cooperatively and communicate effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Capable of identifying and resolving issues quickly to prevent delays and uphold quality standards.

Required education and experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
  • Proficiency with basic hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.

Preferred education and experience:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of prior experience in the marine or recreational vehicle manufacturing industry a plus.
  • Exposure to electrical system installation, plumbing, or mechanical rigging.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and operate heavy equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments with exposure to seasonal weather year-round.

Work environment:

  • Standard manufacturing environment.
  • Work is performed inside or outside year-round. There is exposure to dirt, dust, noise, equipment, vibrations, and seasonal weather conditions.
  • All necessary PPE will be provided.

Travel Requirements:

  • There is no travel required for this role.
