JOB DESCRIPTION:

PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for providing engineering support to a manufacturing line at our Andersen Windows location in Cottage Grove, MN. Primary focus will be on monitoring, controlling, and improving existing manufacturing processes, and to ensure customer and business needs are met.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provideoperational technical support for existing applications and processes
  • Collaborate with operations, quality, engineering, and maintenance to solve issues
  • Troubleshoot problems with other technical employees, suppliers, and outside experts
  • Create training tools, documents, and standard operating procedures for production processes
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and events
  • Present technical information or proposals to team members
  • Offer assistance/mentor for less experienced technical employees
  • Conduct testing related to introducing product improvements into the manufacturing process
  • Perform complex analyses using quality tools and lab techniques
  • Act as a team member on larger-scale projects with defined task ownership
  • Take full responsibility for small-scale expense or capital projects
  • Estimate project schedules, resource needs, and costs
  • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for functional areas or projects
  • Engage in continuous education and skill development
  • Design, build, and test models or prototypes
  • Demonstrate how technology solutions meet customer requirements

QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4-year technical degree or equivalent combination of formalized technical education and experience
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Communicate effectively through written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of 2D & 3D solid modeling preferred(AutoCad/Inventor)

PAY RANGE:

$69,840.00 - $104,760.00

PROFIT SHARING: In 2026 Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $3,600 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit Sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
