Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled GIS Technician that is open to learning more about permitting to support engineering and design projects within the utilities sector. The ideal candidate will create and modify technical drawings, collaborate with engineers, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop 2D and 3D CAD drawings using MicroStation for utility infrastructure projects.
Interpret and translate engineering sketches, specifications, and calculations into detailed technical drawings.
Ensure all drawings comply with industry regulations, utility standards, and company guidelines.
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to support design and development processes.
Maintain and organize digital drawing files and documentation.
Assist in creating bill of materials and parts lists.
Participate in design reviews and provide technical input.
Troubleshoot and resolve CAD-related issues.
Required Skills & Experience
**Education & Experience:**
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 0-4 years of relevant CAD/GIS experience depending on level.
- Will do some of their own easements/ right of ways
- Technical school certificate or Associate's degree preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geospatial Science, Engineering Technology, or related field is a plus.
**Technical Skills:**
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microstation, or ArcGIS required
