Overview:

The Technical Writer II plays a key role in developing high-quality technical content for proposals and marketing deliverables. The Technical Writer II independently produces clear, compliant, and persuasive content while contributing to complex proposal efforts. This role collaborates closely with technical staff and proposal teams and helps refine processes and templates to enhance overall quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Develop and refine technical content for proposals, including project approach narratives, team qualifications, project descriptions, and resumes.

Interview engineers, project managers, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather technical information and translate it into clear, audience-appropriate content.

Review and edit draft materials for clarity, technical accuracy, grammatical correctness, and consistency with company style and solicitation requirements.

Collaborate with proposal coordinators, graphic designers, and pursuit teams to align written content with visual storytelling elements.

Support development of storyboards, messaging strategies, and win themes for mid-sized pursuits.

Contribute to ongoing maintenance and improvement of technical writing templates, style guides, and content libraries.

Maintain strong awareness of procurement requirements, including federal, state, and municipal RFP processes and expectations.

Manage multiple assignments simultaneously, ensuring high-quality deliverables within deadlines.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience writing and editing proposals or technical documentation (AEC industry experience preferred)

Bachelors Degree in English, Communication, or Marketing preferred.

Strong technical writing skills with a demonstrated ability to produce effective, reader-friendly content.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally across all levels of the organization.

Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to consistency and quality.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and assignments.

Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal stakeholders.

Must be able to work Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, with occasional overtime as needed to meet deadlines.
