MAIN DUTIES:

TheEngineer IIworkseffectively as part of theEngineeringdepartment strive to maximize guest engagement, achieve operationalexcellence,and uphold brand standards.Engineer Isare responsible formaintainingthe building,grounds,and physical plant with particular attention towards safety,securityand asset protection.

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Respond and attend to guest andin houserequests for repair,maintenance,and preventative maintenance. Resolve general plumbing issues such as unclogging drains, plunging toilets, and repairing leaky spigots, plumbing lines,pumps,and faucets. Perform general HVAC trouble shooting and repairs.

  • Perform miscellaneous repairs such as maintenance on equipment, dry wall repair, vinyl wall covering installation/replacement throughout hotel area.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment (electrical, mechanical, vacuums, televisions), including cleaning,troubleshootingand lubrication.

  • Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.

  • Maintain daily logs of operation and maintenance.

  • Communicate with leaders/team members when necessary to resolve maintenance issues.

  • Maintainaccuratelogs and records asrequiredand ensure regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards and procedures are followed; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; and complete safety training and certifications.

  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional,maintainconfidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.

  • Perform carpentry work as directed/needed.

  • Perform swimming pool maintenance and fitness equipment repairs.

  • Use computer programs/handhelddevices for communication purposes.

  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards,anticipateand address guests' service needs, andassistindividuals with disabilities.

  • Speak with others using clear and professional language.

  • Develop andmaintainpositive working relationships withothers andlisten and respond appropriately to the concerns of other team members.

  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.

  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Be able to perform manual material handling of 50lbs individually or withassistanceof a co-worker when over 50lbs if necessary.

  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, and/or machines.

  • Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladder. Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight. Useliftin order toreach high areas throughout property when necessary. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Leaders.

  • Accountable for understanding and usage ofKYCsystem. Completing work orders and tasks in an efficient manner as they are assigned tooptimizedepartmental performance.

  • Maintain the physical plant including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical and life safety systems and make repairs to such equipment if necessary.

  • Participate in preventative maintenanceprogramto perform servicesincludepainting, repair work, renovations and the replacement of furniture and equipment. Communicate areas that need attention to staff and follow-up to ensure understanding.

  • Learn how tooperateall functional equipment for all seasons andassistwith upcoming storms. Maintaining the grounds (i.e.snow removal, keeping common pass-throughs safe and clear for our guests and team members).

  • Ensure daily operations to be incompliance with all engineering policies, standards andprocedures arebeing followed and documented.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of corrective action plans to improve guest satisfaction and strive to improve service performance.

  • Identifyopportunities tooptimizeperformance and create value by challenging existing processes, encouraginginnovation,and driving necessary change.

  • Establish andmaintainopen, collaborative internal and external relationships. Develop lasting relationships with guests to secure repeat business.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • A high school degree orGED;

  • Experience in engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing.

  • Detailed knowledge of Engineering operations;demonstratedstrong leadership skills; and proven achievements inoptimizingguest and team member engagement.

  • Experience successfully leading in a fast-paced environment and prioritizing demands.

  • Strong interpersonal, team memberrelationsand leadership abilities.

  • Technically savvy and familiar with Engineering operating/programs.

  • Ability toidentifyand solve problems.

  • Flexibility to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation
