Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add an Electronics Engineer - Drafting/Drawing to join our team in Rancho Bernardo, CA. The candidate should be a self-starter with familiarity working in an Integrated Product Team construct.

Roles and Responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to capture, document, and propagate design changes into drawings and related engineering artifacts.

  • Prepare, review, and release detailed electrical/electronic system and schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, harness layouts, and assembly fabrication drawings using CAD tools.

  • Translate circuit designs and PCB/layout data into producible drawings with correct symbols, part callouts, tolerances, and manufacturing notes.

  • Maintain and update engineering documentation (schematics, BOMs, revision histories, and change records) ensuring traceability and configuration control.

  • Support integration and manufacturing by providing drawing clarifications, redlines, fabrication support, and timely revisions to address issues found in building or test.

  • Coordinate with suppliers and fabrication shops to confirm drawing requirements, component footprints, and manufacturing constraints are met.

  • Report technical status and drawing release progress to engineering leads and management, escalating schedule or quality risks as needed.

  • Conduct/support peer reviews, physical self-audits/formal CM/QA audits. Ensuring all findings are documented and adjudicated.

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is NO remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. Travel up to 25% may be required

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience.

  • Professional experience producing or reviewing electrical schematics, PCB drawings, wiring diagrams, and related engineering documentation in a manufacturing or aerospace/defense environment.

  • Proficiency with developing engineering drawings tools and strong knowledge of drawing standards, BOM management, and configuration control practices.

  • Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills, as well as strong attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite

  • Must have an active US Government Secret Clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

  • Active USG Top Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).

  • Experience with Teamcenter Enterprise

  • Experience with utilizing the Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc)

Primary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 - $137,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
