HEI is a full-service civil engineering, surveying, environmental, and technology solutions consulting firm with multiple locations throughout the Midwest. Our water resources engineers work on a variety of exciting projects including design work for dams, levees, lakes, streams, stormwater management, flood risk reduction, watershed planning, hydraulic structures, and other projects related to Water Resources Engineering.

Job Description
  • Effectively use AutoCAD Civil 3D to design various project features and ArcGIS for watershed planning.
  • Prepare design computations and quantity estimates under the supervision of a licensed engineer.
  • Assist in preparation of reports, specifications, plan creation, and permit applications.
  • Interface with CAD and GIS designers and coordinate with other engineering departments on complex multi-discipline projects.
  • Assist in client contact and communications.
  • May include onsite construction observation and other field work duties including surveying, stream assessments, and wetland delineations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Biosystems Engineering, or Agricultural Engineering.
  • 0-3 years of experience in Civil Engineering 
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Solid critical thinking skills, along with attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude under pressure, strong team player, responsible, and self-motivated.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Autocad Civil 3D, ArcGIS, or hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Valid Driver's License and in good standing with periodic travel necessary
