Job description

The Programmer will create flat layouts and tool paths from customer supplied prints and computer-generated drawings for production use. Direct responsibilities include: working closely with production control, estimating, customers, and production leads to efficiently produce customer parts. If you’re a team player with an enthusiastic and positive attitude, we’d like to meet you!

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the estimating process as well as quoting and purchasing materials.
  • Interpret customer prints and drawings to convert to AutoCad 2D and 3D Inventor.
  • Pursue customer approval of prints produced prior to releasing an order to production
  • Create correct tool paths for customer parts.
  • Resolve process, product, equipment, and production issues regarding production prints.
  • Conduct work activity at the direction of the Production Planner.
  • Discuss job priorities and production problems with production leads on occasion.

Qualifications/Skills

  • AAS in Mechanical Drafting or equivalent in AutoCad 2D/3D Inventor, drafting in a metal manufacturing/assembly plant.
  • Knowledge of various production operations in press brake equipment, punch press equipment, strippit, CNC, and advanced understanding of blueprint dimensions and mechanical drawings.
  • Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of operations and production management.
  • Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set production goals.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers, management, coworkers, and outside engineers.
  • Assist customer with understanding design options.
  • Knowledge of fixtures, tools, and gauges to measure tolerances.
  • Mechanical skills in operating equipment to produce parts to print.
