Job description

The Engineering Assistant will work directly with the Assistant Director of Building Engineering and will support the day-to-day operations of building systems and maintenance. The role involves ensuring the proper functioning of essential systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical and fire safety equipment. The Engineering Assistant will also assist with routine testing, installations, repairs, collaborate with contractors, and assist with other facilities duties as needed. This role is ideal for individuals seeking hands-on experience in building engineering and maintenance within a dynamic and supportive team environment.

Pay: $34.00 per hour.

  • Proven experience in building systems maintenance (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)

  • Assist the maintenance and monitoring of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other critical infrastructure.
  • Perform weekly testing of the fire pump and emergency generator to ensure operational readiness.
  • Adjust and repair doors and hardware as required
  • Coordinate and work with external contractors for maintenance and repair projects
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and building regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
  • Support in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in a timely manner
  • Help with conference room set-ups and breakdowns and aid with office moves as needed
