Job description

  • Reports directly to the Plant Engineer
  • In the absence of Plant Engineer and Assistant – the Supervisor is in charge
  • Must be able to work with all levels of plant personnel
  • Willing to work weekends and flexible hours as directed
  • Enforce company policies
  • Assure only safe, legal, authentic, excellent quality products are made and distributed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time
Employee Management:
  • Train employees
  • Evaluate employees
  • Recognize and reward employees

  • Lead by example

  • Think and promote safety
  • Track birthdays – floating holidays – personal days
Equipment Management: Do and oversee also
  • Keep plant running and put out quality product
  • Deal with day-to-day problems – decide what needs repair now and what can wait
  • Assign work to mechanics as downtime dictates – PM's and work orders
  • Assign work to mechanics to keep them productive
  • Make sure work orders are written for equipment problems
  • Update and revise PM's to fit equipment needs
  • Cancel out PM's and work orders
  • Track notes form PM's and work orders and take appropriate action (order parts, reassign, investigate etc.)
  • Make PLC changes – check with Engineer
Procurement:
  • Manage timecards as needed
  • Schedule weekly manpower
  • Constantly update and revise PM's to fit equipment and conditions
  • Cancel out PM's and work orders
  • Track notes from PM's and work orders and take appropriate action – order parts – reassign – go investigate etc.
  • Generate list of tasks needed and assign
  • Assure PM's and work orders are done correctly
  • Search out parts so we do not buy from OEM if possible
  • Look up parts
  • Order parts
  • Try to get best pricing and service of parts
  • Make sure we have parts for work scheduled
  • Meet with vendors
  • Log parts received into computer
General Duties:
  • Receive and make sure parts get put away in their proper place
  • Interact professionally with production, sanitation, and other bakery employees
  • Look for ways to make equipment better, safer and more productive
  • Maintain records as directed by Engineer
  • Decide when to call in outside help
  • Fill in with an absence of Plant Engineer/Assistant Engineer
  • All other duties requested by the Plant Engineer/Assistant Engineer
  • Be on call
  • Read and respond t both production and maintenance logbooks
  • Assure GMP's are followed
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Flexible hours
