Description
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Engineering Department and help maintain a safe, efficient, and well-maintained hotel for our guests and associates. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who understands hotel operations, values preventative maintenance, and knows how to build accountability and teamwork within a 24/7 environment.
Scheduled hours will vary weekly between Monday-Sunday. Weekdays, weekends, and holidays are required.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
โ€ข Responsible for maintaining the hotel including guest rooms, public areas, and back of house spaces.
โ€ข Issues work requests to Engineering staff. This includes routine maintenance, emergency repairs and ensuring compliance and safety.
โ€ข Manage team of engineers and provide guidance and support to ensure all maintenance work is completed efficiently and to high standards.
โ€ข Assisting with the development and upkeep of preventative maintenance program. This includes regular inspections and timely repairs.
โ€ข Ensure all hotel operations comply with local regulations and safety standards. This includes managing emergency response plans and safety training for staff.
โ€ข Ensure timely response to work orders and emergency maintenance issues.
โ€ข Track maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment service schedules.
โ€ข Maintain safety programs, MSDS documentation, and proper use of PPE.
โ€ข Participate in safety inspections, audits, and brand quality assurance reviews.
โ€ข Coordinate and oversee outside contractors and vendors as needed.
โ€ข Review invoices and ensure work quality meets hotel standards.
โ€ข Keeps immediate superior promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to her/his attention so that prompt corrective action can be taken when appropriate.
โ€ข Respond professionally to guest maintenance concerns and service recovery situations.
โ€ข Collaborate with Front Office, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage to support hotel operations.
โ€ข Communicate clearly with leadership regarding facility needs, risks, and capital projects.
Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.
  • Ability to scrupulously follow all StepStone and hotel policies and procedures.
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations.
  • Must have exceptional mathematical and computer skills
  • High school education and relevant training and experience required. Additional education preferred.
  • Ability to timely obtain any required licenses or certificates.
  • CPR training required; first aid training preferred.
  • Additional language ability preferred.
  • Several years of experience in engineering and maintenance preferably within the hospitality industry, is essential.
  • Degree in Engineering or related field is preferred and technical training in HVAC, plumbing or electrical systems is also beneficial.
