Job description

Job Title: Assembly Technician / Engine Assembler

Job Description

This full-time, first-shift role based in the Roswell area of Atlanta focuses on the assembly, maintenance, and testing of jet engines and related systems in a new, state-of-the-art aerospace manufacturing facility. The Assembly Technician / Engine Assembler works closely with engineers and other technicians to build and service advanced engine platforms, including systems used in unmanned aerial vehicles, while ensuring strict adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, test, and repair jet engine components and systems according to detailed work instructions.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on jet engine equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot issues with engine systems, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering documentation to perform accurate assembly and repair work.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technical staff to implement, refine, and improve testing and assembly procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and test results in accordance with company standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, industry standards, and internal quality procedures during all tasks.
  • Operate and maintain specialized tools, fixtures, and equipment used in engine assembly, testing, and repair.
  • Follow lean manufacturing practices where applicable to support efficient production and continuous improvement.
  • Support occasional international travel requirements for training and knowledge transfer related to engine assembly and testing.

Essential Skills

  • Associate degree in Aerospace Technology, Aviation Maintenance, or a related technical field, or at least 5+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing or assembly in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven experience as an aerospace technician, assembly technician, engine assembler, or in a similar hands-on technical role.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace systems and components, including engine assemblies and related subsystems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, engineering drawings, and blueprints.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude in engine assembly, production, or repair, including experience with engines, drones, or automotive maintenance.
  • Solid problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail in a production or maintenance environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with engineers, technicians, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work standing for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Must be a U.S. person as required for work in an ITAR-compliant facility.
  • Must hold a valid passport with no travel restrictions and be able and willing to travel internationally for training.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to the Czech Republic for a two-week training program within 1–3 weeks of starting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing, aviation maintenance, automotive manufacturing, drone production, or similar high-precision production environments.
  • 2–5 years of experience performing production assembly work in automotive, military, drone, or related manufacturing settings for mid-level candidates.
  • Experience with engine repair, automotive maintenance, or drone systems assembly.
  • Lean manufacturing experience or exposure to continuous improvement practices.
  • Familiarity with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and related propulsion systems.
  • Comfort using specialized tools, fixtures, and test equipment in a production or maintenance environment.
  • Willingness to work within defined levels of responsibility, from entry-level candidates with automotive manufacturing experience to mid-level candidates with 2–5 years of production assembly experience.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage documentation, records, and communication related to work performed.
  • Ability to participate in virtual interviews and remote screening processes as part of the selection process.

Work Environment

The environment centers on high-precision aerospace production, including engine assembly, testing, and maintenance for advanced platforms such as unmanned aerial vehicles. Technicians work with specialized tools, fixtures, and test equipment, following detailed technical documentation and lean manufacturing practices where applicable. The facility supports structured processes, strong safety standards, and modern production technologies. Work is primarily performed on your feet, with regular lifting of components up to 50 pounds and extended periods of standing, consistent with a hands-on assembly and maintenance role. Occasional international travel, including a two-week training program in the Czech Republic early in employment, is an integral part of the work environment and supports ongoing skills development and knowledge transfer.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
