At Prologis, we don't just lead the industry-we define it with a 1.3 billion square foot portfolio and an annual throughput of approximately $3.2 trillion. We create the intelligent infrastructure that powers global commerce, seamlessly connecting the digital and physical worlds. From agile supply chains to energy solutions, our ecosystems help your business move faster, operate smarter and grow sustainably. Job Title:

Associate, Energy Finance

Company:

Prologis

Associate,EnergyFinance - Denver, CO or San Francisco, CA

A day inthe life

Prologis Energy is building and scaling renewable energy and battery storage solutions across one of the world's largest logistics real estate platforms. Prologis's Energy Solutions platform includes onsite solar, energy storage (BESS), community solar, and powered land solutions, backed by the scale of Prologis's global real estate, customer, and capital markets platform.

The Associate, Energy Finance will be a core member of the Energy Finance team, focused on M&A, underwriting, structuring, and executing renewable energy transactions. This is a deal execution role: you will build and own transaction models, evaluate project and portfolio economics, help shape financeable commercial terms, prepare investment materials, coordinate diligence, and support closings across asset sales, project financings, capital raises, and strategic capital provider processes.

This role is ideal for a transaction-oriented finance professional who wants direct exposure to renewable energy development, BESS, project finance, capital markets, external investors, and senior decision-makers - with the opportunity to help scale a high-growth energy platform inside Prologis.

What makes this role exciting

You will work on live renewable energy transactions, not just reporting or portfolio monitoring.

You will sit at the intersection of development, capital markets, legal, tax, commercial structuring, and external capital providers.

You will help evaluate and execute transactions involving solar, BESS, and other technologies, developing views regarding offtake pricing, tax incentives, project finance, and asset monetization.

You will join a scaled platform with significant embedded development opportunities across Prologis's global real estate footprint and customer base.

Key responsibilities

Transaction execution and structuring

  • Drive financial analysis and execution workstreams for renewable energy transactions from early-stage underwriting through diligence, approvals, and closing.
  • Build, own, and maintain project and portfolio-level financial models used for valuation, transaction structuring, financing strategy, investor discussions, and investment committee approvals.
  • Evaluate project economics, capital structures, pricing, investor return requirements, tax incentives, revenue structures, operating assumptions, financing terms, and key sensitivities.
  • Support execution of asset sales, project financings, and other capital markets initiatives.
  • Coordinate transaction diligence, including data room management, Q&A, diligence trackers, third-party advisor inputs, closing deliverables, and internal approval processes.
  • Prepare investment committee materials, transaction memos, investor presentations, and capital provider materials that clearly explain project economics, development status, financing strategy, key risks, and recommended transaction structure.
  • Partner with Legal, Development, Tax, Accounting, and external advisors to translate commercial terms into financeable structures and executable transaction documents.
  • Support negotiation analysis for offtake arrangements, tolling structures, EPC inputs, revenue assumptions, financing terms, and capital provider requirements.

Renewable energy underwriting

  • Partner with Development to evaluate renewable energy projects from early-stage development through sale.
  • Underwrite solar, storage and other assets, evaluating tolling structures, capex and opex assumptions, interconnection, EPC costs, tax incentives, and development risk.
  • Provide financial insights to Development and senior leadership to support pricing, negotiations, capital allocation, and go/no-go decisions.
  • Stress test project economics across scenarios, including capex, schedule, revenue, degradation, tax, financing cost, and investor return sensitivities.

Capital markets and investor engagement

  • Support investor, lender, buyer, tax equity, and strategic capital provider outreach, diligence, and transaction processes.
  • Track market intelligence on renewable energy financing structures, BESS revenues, debt pricing, equity return requirements, asset sale valuation, and investor appetite.
  • Develop repeatable models, templates, diligence processes, and automation tools to improve speed, consistency, and decision quality across transactions.

Building blocks for success

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in renewable energy, project finance, infrastructure finance, structured finance, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, energy investing, or transaction-oriented development finance.
  • Strong financial modeling skills, including experience building, auditing, and maintaining transaction models in Excel.
  • Experience supporting or executing transactions, including diligence, valuation, investment materials, data rooms, approvals, documentation, or closing processes.
  • Strong analytical judgment and ability to translate commercial, legal, tax, operating, and development assumptions into financial models and transaction recommendations.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong communication skills, including ability to explain complex project economics, risks, sensitivities, and recommendations to finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Direct experience with renewable energy, BESS, project finance, tax equity, tax credit transferability, asset sales, or infrastructure capital markets.
  • Familiarity with ITC, MACRS, PPAs, tolling agreements, EPC contracts, interconnection, merchant revenue, ancillary services, and BESS operating models.
  • Experience interfacing with investors, strategic buyers or institutional capital providers.
  • Experience with transaction processes including investor outreach, diligence management, data rooms, third-party reports, closing checklists, and transaction documentation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • MBA, CFA, or other relevant advanced credential.
  • Demonstrate willingness and capability to leverage emerging technology, automation, and AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and speed. Exercises sound judgment, creative thinking, and accountability for outcomes.
