Job Description – Behavioral Health Technician Manager

Department: Behavioral Health

Direct Report to: Executive Director

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Manager is an integral member of the administrative and treatment team, to ensure the implementation and integration of the person-centered treatment plan. This position will function in a supervisory role, providing direct oversight to Behavioral Health Technicians, monitor client experience, and seamlessly integrates client needs into their stay in the residential treatment program.

SCOPE:

Under the immediate supervision of the Executive Director, The Behavioral Health Technician Manager will be responsible for the direct oversight of the Behavioral Health Technicians, addressing both client and employee needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3 Years Management experience required.

• Bachelor’s Degree with at least 1 year experience in Behavioral Health preferred.

• Ability to learn quickly, multi-task, and utilize effective communication skills, including both telephone and in-person.

• Positive demeanor and clear understanding of professional boundaries with clients.

• Understanding or Behavioral Health and substance use disorders, preferred.

• Ability to follow directives explicitly, adhere to facility policies, provide client-driven customer service, and exercise time management skills.

• Scheduling flexibility, holiday, and weekend rotation is REQUIRED.

• Must hold valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and provide own insured transportation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists Executive Director with budget expectations of the department

• Responsible for BHT activities on all shifts including weekends

• Recruits and interviews potential new hires

• Submits programming supply requests to Executive Director

• Approves time and payroll records for BHT’s

• Works BHT position as needed

• Schedules employees and monitors labor hours and overtime

• Participates in performance improvement activities, including completing competency reviews and trainings

• Provides job-specific training for new hires and ongoing to ensure processes and procedures are followed.

• Completes corrective action summaries and recommends disciplinary action to ED.

• Audits the EMR to ensure timely and accurate BHT documentation. Ensure shift notes are completed timely

• Adheres to DMHA and Life Safety regulations

• Adheres to Joint Commission requirements

• Completes team assignment sheets and assigns accordingly per shift

• Ensures all clients attend individual and group treatment sessions and follows daily order of events

• Attend all staff meetings and trainings as directed by Executive Director

• Reports safety hazards immediately and works to maintain the cleanliness and functional order of the Milieu

• Makes frequent rounds of the Milieu and documents client non-compliance

• Practices infection control including use of PPE and proper hand hygiene

• Holds daily, weekly, monthly leadership meetings

• Has a working knowledge of drug/alcohol addiction and recovery
