Job description

Our client is seeking a Learning & Development Director to build and lead a formal training function for a growing organization with a strong commitment to employee development and internal promotion.

Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, this role will be responsible for creating learning programs, leadership development initiatives, onboarding experiences, and career pathways that support employees from entry-level through executive leadership.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assess current training programs and identify development opportunities.
  • Design and implement onboarding, leadership development, and career progression programs.
  • Create customized training content aligned with company culture and business goals.
  • Partner with leaders to understand workforce development needs.
  • Implement and manage learning technologies, including LMS platforms.
  • Measure training effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead training rollouts across multiple locations and eventually build an internal L&D team.


Qualifications

  • 7+ years of Learning & Development, Training, or Organizational Development experience.
  • Proven experience building training programs and curriculum from the ground up.
  • Experience supporting employees at all levels, from frontline staff to senior leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design, leadership development, and adult learning principles.
  • Experience with LMS platforms and training technology.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder partnership skills.


Preferred Background

  • Experience in hospitality, luxury, retail, or other service-focused environments.
  • Ability to create engaging, high-touch learning experiences that reflect a premium brand.


Travel

  • Minimal travel during year one.
  • Up to 30–50% travel during implementation and rollout phases.


Compensation and Benefits:

  • $125,000 - $150,000 (based on experience)
