About the Role
Join an engineering organization where your leadership directly supports real-time embedded systems in the most demanding environments on earth. Department 454, Tactical Software Engineering, is responsible for designing and delivering highly complex, mission-critical software for various classes of Navy submarines.
We're looking for a Software Engineering Supervisor who is ready to lead a talented group of up to 15 engineers and help shape the next generation of naval technology, ensuring our ability to provide the strategic advantage that protects sailors, their families, and our freedom.

What You'll Do
You will guide your team through the full software development lifecycle, ensuring that your team produces high-quality software that meets the rigorous requirements and schedules of internal and external customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading and mentoring a high-performing team of software engineers
  • Overseeing planning, coordination, and execution of software development lifecycle activities
  • Partnering with internal customers, external stakeholders, system engineers, and hardware teams to deliver integrated solutions
  • Developing estimates, schedules, and budgets, and ensuring resources are effectively allocated
  • Reviewing and approving technical products to ensure Technical Product Quality
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives that elevate performance, process, and product quality
  • Supporting personnel development through coaching, training, and clear direction

You'll excel in this position if you can skillfully balance technical leadership with people development, all while keeping a close eye on quality, cost, and schedule commitments. Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or a Bachelor of Science degree in a technical related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years' of post-graduate professional experience in Engineering

Preferred:
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of engineers
  • Understands the software development lifecycle
  • Familiar with JIRA and Confluence
  • Familiar with embedded software systems
