What You'll Do

As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll play an essential role in delivering excellent patient care by:

  • Assisting veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians during examinations and treatments

  • Safely restraining dogs and cats for medical procedures

  • Preparing exam rooms and treatment areas

  • Collecting patient histories and recording medical information accurately

  • Performing laboratory sample collection and assisting with diagnostics

  • Preparing patients for surgery and monitoring recovery under supervision

  • Cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining medical equipment
