Job description

LA28 does not provide relocation assistance.

LA28 is the independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We are on a singular mission to create an Olympic and Paralympic Games that celebrate all that this city and country have to offer, delivering an unparalleled experience for athletes, fans, partners and our community.

The 2028 Games mark the return of the Summer Games to the U.S. for the first time in 32 years and Los Angeles' third time hosting an Olympic Games and first time welcoming the Paralympic Games. This presents the unique and exciting opportunity to celebrate our legacy with the Games and push the Olympic and Paralympic Movements forward, writing a new chapter of Games history in Los Angeles.

Putting on an Olympic and Paralympic Games is a team sport. To build a Games unlike any the world has seen before, we need the best team in place-a team full of diverse perspectives, experiences and expertise. We are guided by the following set of values and behaviors-optimism, integrity, excellence, inclusion, co-creation and boldness-and look forward to hearing about how your past experiences align with them.

Sr. Associate, Email Marketing

About the Digital Engagement & Marketing (DIG) Team

The Digital Marketing (DIG)team drives LA28's overarching marketing and fan engagement efforts within DIG, the CRM and Fan Data.

We are looking for a Sr. Associate, Email Marketing role to join our growing CRM and Fan Data team. This is a dual-focus role that sits at the intersection of content crafting and campaign execution - ideal for a strong writer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to build a deep understanding of how great content comes to life in a CRM channel. Olympic and Paralympic fans are at the heart of who we connect with; every message should make it relevant, clearer, and more exciting for fans to engage with LA28.

You will own first-draft email copy development across our lifecycle programs (e.g., ticketing, volunteer, merchandise, hospitality, Torch Relay and partner communications) while also supporting the end-to-end campaign process - from stakeholder alignment through to deployment QA. This cross-functional exposure is intentional: as we scale, your fluency in both content and operations will make you a critical bridge between strategy and execution.

This role reports into the Sr. Manager, Email & CRM

Key Responsibilities:

CONTENT STRATEGY & DEVELOPMENT

  • Own the development of first-draft email copy (body, subject lines, and preview text) across the entire fan lifecycle, translating complex briefs into conversion-driven messaging for major LA28 milestones (e.g., ticketing, volunteer journeys, merchandise, Torch Relay)
  • Propose and refine data-driven personalization strategies, collaborating with Email and CRM Operations to deliver tailored messaging based on behavioral, demographic, and lifecycle data
  • Act as the central point for gathering and synthesizing cross-functional feedback; build trusted relationships to streamline review cycles, reconcile conflicting inputs, and maintain feedback logs to drive approvals
  • Lead the email experimentation pipeline by ideating hypotheses, executing A/B tests (on copy, subject lines, and CTAs), and systematically integrating performance data back into the content strategy
  • Build and maintain reusable email messaging frameworks, templates, and playbooks that standardize content development and maximize campaign efficiency
  • Partner closely with other sub-functions of DIG to safeguard a consistent, fan-first brand voice and tone across all external email communications

CONTENT MANAGEMENT

  • Coordinate campaign timelines, manage the lifecycle calendar, and maintain up-to-date trackers to ensure full stakeholder visibility. Proactively resolve bottlenecks and build scalable workflows for content intake and review as the team grows
  • Own content quality as a non-negotiable standard by validating all copy, links, personalization logic, and brand alignment prior to deployment-with a strict focus on program-critical communications (e.g., ticketing, volunteer, Torch Relay). Collaborate closely with Integrated, Digital Content, and Web and App team
  • Partner with CRM and Email Operations to review deployment requirements, flagging potential content or technical issues early in the creation process, and supporting QA for dynamic content, device rendering, and segmentation logic
  • Collaborate with Fan Data & Analytics to analyze performance trends (open rates, CTR, conversions). Translate these insights into actionable recommendations to optimize messaging effectiveness and shape future content briefs
Background & Requirements:
  • Minimum 4+ years in email copywriting, content strategy or lifecycle marketing - ideally within a CRM or acquisition and retention focused environment
  • A portfolio that demonstrates conversion-oriented email copy across lifecycle moments and different audience types
  • Working with personalization and dynamic content concepts, hands on SalesForce Marketing Cloud experience is an advantage
  • Stakeholder management skills - gather inputs, synthesize requirements, manage conflict, and prioritization
  • Process-oriented mindset: you care about quality fan-centric content, deadlines and can manage risk proactively
  • Strong attention to detail and collaborative working style with a low ego approach to feedback and iterations
  • Ability to communicate findings, including contributing to reports, presentations

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting inbound email inquiries
  • Experience using Marketing Cloud for reporting
  • Background in sports, events, ticketing, or live entertainment data
Expectations:
  • Self-starter who is highly passionate about the Olympic and Paralympic movement
  • Skilled at working quickly, being resourceful, and paying attention to details
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Detail-oriented with a natural curiosity to ask "why" and dig deeper into fan behavior and preference patterns
  • Skilled at working independently and collaboratively, balancing content quality with deployment
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities, stakeholders and tight timelines
  • Strong communicator who can simplify complex analytics into clear, actionable stories for business teams
  • Committed to representing the voice of the Olympic and Paralympic Fan
