Email Marketing Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY

The Email Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, development, execution, and performance measurement of email marketing campaigns that support profitable growth, lead generation, customer engagement, and awareness of Intertek's services and brands.

This position will work collaboratively with Business Line Marketing Managers and other stakeholders (including HR, IT, Group Comms, and senior leadership as needed) to create and distribute targeted email communications to customers, prospects, and internal audiences. The Email Marketing Coordinator will manage campaigns from initial planning through deployment, reporting, and optimization.

Examples of Work

  • Collaborates with Marketing Managers to plan email campaigns that support business priorities, service launches, events, webinars, thought leadership content, and lead-generation programs.
  • Manages the development and execution of email campaigns from initial request through content development, audience selection, production via Acoustic (external email service provider), testing, approval, deployment, and performance reporting.
  • Maintains an email marketing calendar in Outlook to coordinate campaign schedules, deadlines, audience communications, and business priorities.
  • Writes, edits, formats, and proofreads email content, including subject lines, headlines, body copy, calls to action, and preview text.
  • Builds email campaigns within Intertek's email marketing platform using approved templates, brand standards, and established best practices.
  • Coordinates with designers, writers, subject matter experts, agencies, and other stakeholders to obtain the content and creative assets required for each campaign.
  • Manages audience segmentation and distribution lists to ensure campaigns reach the appropriate customers, prospects, industries, job functions, and geographic markets.
  • Performs quality assurance testing before campaign deployment, including the review of links, images, formatting, personalization, audience criteria, tracking codes, and mobile responsiveness.
  • Ensures email campaigns follow Intertek brand guidelines, internal approval processes, data privacy requirements, and applicable email marketing regulations.
  • Develops and executes A/B tests involving subject lines, content, calls to action, send times, audience segments, and other campaign elements.
  • Tracks and evaluates campaign performance using metrics such as delivery rate, open rate, click-through rate, conversion rate, unsubscribe rate, engagement, leads generated, and sales follow-up activity.
  • Creates campaign reports and dashboards that communicate results, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improving future campaigns.
  • Maintains accurate campaign, contact, and engagement information within applicable email marketing, customer relationship management, and reporting systems.
  • Maintains an organized library of email templates, campaign assets, reports, distribution lists, and best-practice documentation.
  • Recommends and implements policies, procedures, templates, and processes that improve campaign quality, efficiency, consistency, and measurable results.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Two to five years of experience in email marketing, digital marketing, marketing communications, or a related discipline, preferably within a business-to-business environment.
  • Experience developing and distributing email marketing campaigns using a marketing automation or email marketing platform.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Acoustic, Adobe design software, or similar systems.
  • Understanding of email marketing metrics, campaign reporting, audience segmentation, lead generation, A/B testing, and marketing performance analysis.
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and email-template formatting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management systems, lead-management processes, landing pages, web analytics, and campaign tracking is preferred.
  • Understanding of email deliverability, permission-based marketing, data privacy, and applicable email marketing regulations.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with demonstrated success managing multiple campaigns, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, particularly when reviewing audience selections, links, content, campaign settings, and performance data.
  • Ability to interpret marketing results and translate campaign data into practical recommendations.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to manage projects from initial planning through execution and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple functions, business lines, and geographic regions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Comfortable managing changing priorities and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally, as business needs require.
