Vice President of Business Development

Home Care | New York City & Long Island

Elite Connect has been engaged to conduct a confidential search for a Vice President of Business Development on behalf of a large, well-established home care organization serving New York City and Long Island.

This role is designed for a senior growth leader with deep expertise in the home care sector who has successfully scaled business development teams across multiple territories. The Vice President will shape and execute the organization’s regional growth strategy while building the leadership infrastructure necessary to sustain expansion across one of the most competitive home care markets in the country.

The ideal candidate brings a decade or more of industry experience, an established professional network across the New York healthcare ecosystem, and a proven ability to build, lead, and hold accountable high-performing outside sales teams.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Growth Leadership

  • Develop and execute the organization’s regional business development strategy across New York City and Long Island.
  • Identify expansion opportunities and oversee the development of new territories and referral pipelines.
  • Design and implement the strategic framework, operating cadence, and performance metrics needed to support sustained market growth.

Executive Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, structure, and lead a multi-territory business development organization, including hiring, mentoring, and developing regional marketing leadership.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, accountability systems, and reporting structures for business development teams.
  • Provide leadership oversight to ensure consistent execution and performance across all territories.

Market Positioning & Brand Leadership

  • Ensure the organization maintains a strong and visible presence throughout the healthcare community by overseeing participation in industry events, strategic partnerships, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Strengthen the organization’s brand presence within the regional healthcare ecosystem.

Strategic Relationship Oversight

  • Ensure the organization maintains strong referral relationships across hospitals, physician practices, LHCSAs, CHHAs, OPWDD organizations, and other healthcare partners.
  • Provide strategic direction to the business development team responsible for cultivating and maintaining these relationships.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with clinical, operations, and intake leadership to ensure seamless referral transitions and exceptional patient and family experiences.
  • Align business development initiatives with operational capacity and organizational priorities.

Performance & Market Oversight

  • Monitor growth metrics, referral pipelines, and territory performance.
  • Provide executive leadership with data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to support continued market expansion.

Ideal Candidate

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the home care industry
  • At least 3–5 years of leadership experience overseeing outside sales or business development teams within the home care sector
  • Proven success managing multi-territory business development operations
  • Demonstrated experience building and expanding referral networks across New York City and Long Island

Industry Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of LHCSA and CHHA operations, regulations, and referral processes
  • Established relationships within the New York healthcare referral ecosystem

Leadership Skills

  • Proven ability to build and develop high-performing business development teams
  • Strategic thinker with strong operational discipline
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and networking abilities
  • Strong organizational and reporting skills with experience tracking KPIs and performance metrics

Location

This is a full-time, in-person leadership role based in Brooklyn, NY, with frequent travel throughout New York City and Long Island to oversee regional teams and referral relationships.
