Location: In-Person @ Sterling Montessori Academy & Charter School - Morrisville, NC
Job Type: Part-Time
Hours: Monday-Friday | 3:00-6:00 PM
Supervisor: Upper Elementary Director
Start Date: August 2026

About the Role
Do you enjoy working with children and helping them learn through play, movement, and meaningful connection? Are you patient, positive, and eager to support a nurturing environment? We are seeking a Part-Time After Care Assistant to work with our Elementary students (grades 1-8) from 3:00-6:00 PM each day. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in education or Montessori environments, and who is looking for part-time, consistent work during the school year.
What You'll Do
  • Supervise children in our Montessori after-care program with care, attention, and consistency
  • Lead engaging, developmentally appropriate activities to promote social and emotional development
  • Ensure a safe, calm, and respectful environment aligned with Montessori values
  • Support student transitions and self-care routines
  • Communicate positively with children, staff, and families as needed
  • Assist with clean-up and end-of-day preparation for the next day

What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children
  • A calm, nurturing demeanor and a passion for education
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of background check
