Grace Fellowship Church is prayerfully searching for our next Elementary Director to lead all programs for kids in first through fifth grades ensuring they Know God, Know the Bible and are able to share their faith. The ideal candidate will be a Jesus follower with a passion for supporting the churchโ€™s mission of sharing the gospel, as well as a proven track record of success in leading childhood development.

The Role

The Elementary Director is responsible for the creative planning, development, and implementation of all programs of kids in first through fifth grades ensuring they Know God, Know the Bible and are able to share their faith. The ED is to build relationships with leaders, kids, and families.

The Elementary Director contributes as a team player with the Kids staff and entire Grace Fellowship staff. The ED reports directly to the Kids Ministry Lead Director. This role participates and engages in weekly staff meetings and works on site at our office in Katy, Texas.

Responsibilities
  • Encourage, support, and connect with kids, leaders/volunteers, and families through visits, cards, calls and emails (Be relational)
  • Edit curriculum and post weekly lessons and resources for elementary classes
  • Coordinate and communicate weekly schedules for Sunday morning leaders
  • Coordinate items needed for lessons and large group for Sunday morning
  • Assist with the planning, leading, and implementing of large-scale programming including but not limited to: Family Christmas Eve Service & Event, VBS, Family Events
  • Recruit, train, and equip leaders for elementary for Sunday morning and VBS
  • Create strong and safe ministry, keeping compliance with Ministry Safe guidelines
  • Build community within Kids Ministry leaders to develop ministry ownership and leadership through weekly prayer time, area meetings, trainings, and social gatherings
  • Give vision and leadership to Sunday morning, including classes and large group, being available for leaders and families as well as teaching periodically
  • Coordinate Kids Ministry Worship for Sunday morning and VBS
  • Be the Kids Ministry point-person for Launch (5th Grade VBS)

Preferred Qualifications
  • College degree in early childhood development or 3-5 years of experience in Kids ministry at a church 10+ years of experience in facilities management.
  • Active involvement (staff or volunteer) in a church or school.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office Suite.
  • A strong desire to become an actively engaged member of Grace Fellowship Church, making it their regular place of worship.
  • A strong desire to help children develop a passion for God

  • Detailed oriented, with strong organizational, planning, and time management skills

Additional Information Salary & Benefits:

The salary will be commensurate with experience. This position is an exempt, salaried position. Grace Fellowshipโ€™s benefits are outlined in the Employee Handbook, but currently include paid vacation, church-paid health insurance for employee-only coverage, life insurance, long & short-term disability insurance, and a 403(b) plan.

Working Hours:

The Elementary Director is to develop a working schedule that maximizes both time with family and productive time accomplishing the job. The position is an average of 40 hours per week. Workdays include Sundays through Thursdays as well as Church specific holidays.

Work Authorization:

The Elementary Director must be authorized to work in the United States under Federal requirements.
