Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager
Location: Jefferson, OH
Job Type Full-Time, Direct Hire
Salary: Approximately $80,000/year
Hours: Flexible 7am-4pm.
Position Overview
Mancan Staffing is partnering with a Jefferson-based manufacturing facility to hire a direct placement Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs within an electroplating environment. The EH&S Manager will ensure regulatory compliance, lead safety initiatives, and foster a strong safety culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & Agency Interaction
* Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local EH&S regulations (OSHA, EPA, RCRA)
* Act as the primary contact for regulatory agencies, inspectors, and auditors
* Prepare and manage required permits, reports, and environmental documentation
* Oversee hazardous waste programs, including handling, storage, and disposal
Health & Safety Programs
* Develop and maintain safety programs (hazard communication, lockout/tagout, PPE, confined space, emergency response, chemical safety)
* Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
* Track and analyze safety metrics and trends
Auditing & Continuous Improvement
* Conduct internal audits and facility inspections
* Lead and support 5S and continuous improvement initiatives
* Assist with external audits and customer assessments
* Maintain EH&S systems, policies, and training records
Training & Leadership
* Coordinate and deliver EH&S training for employees and contractors
* Promote a proactive safety culture through leadership and employee engagement
* Advise leadership on compliance, risks, and best practices
Qualifications
Required:
* High School Diploma or GED
* Minimum 5 years of EH&S experience in a manufacturing environment
* Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and RCRA regulations
* Experience with incident investigations and corrective actions
* Background in EH&S audits and regulatory inspections
Preferred:
* Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
* Certifications such as CHMM, CSP, or CIH
* Experience in electroplating, metal finishing, or chemical processing
* Knowledge of hazardous waste management and wastewater systems
Skills & Competencies
* Strong understanding of environmental compliance and permitting
* Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels
* Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Experience with 5S and safety culture initiatives
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and EH&S tracking systems
* Willingness to travel 510% (including occasional support to El Paso, TX facility)
