Job description

Kelly Services is seeking a highly motivated Production Manager to lead our anodizing and electroplating facility in the Raleigh, NC area!
 
Key Responsibilities Production Operations
  • Plan, organize, and supervise daily activities across plating lines
  • Monitor workflow, staffing, and equipment utilization to maximize efficiency
  • Ensure that production schedules and quality standards are met
Process Management
  • Oversee plating processes, including bath chemistry, racking, and finishing
  • Maintain and troubleshoot tanks, rectifiers, filtration, and wastewater systems
  • Resolve production issues related to coating quality, adhesion, thickness, and defects

Team Leadership
  • Supervise, train, and mentor production staff (operators and supervisors)
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Conduct performance evaluations and assist with staffing decisions
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
  • Enforce OSHA, EPA, and local regulatory compliance
  • Oversee handling and storage of hazardous chemicals
  • Maintain safety programs, PPE usage, and incident/injury reporting

Inventory & Materials Management
  • Manage chemical, raw material, and supply inventory
  • Coordinate with purchasing to ensure adequate stock
 
Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Bachelors in engineering, Chemistry, Manufacturing, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years’ hands-on experience in anodizing, electroplating, or metal finishing
  • 2+ years in a supervisory or management role
Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of anodizing/electroplating (sulfuric anodizing, hardcoat, zinc, nickel, chrome plating)
  • Proficient in chemical bath control, titration, and wastewater systems
  • Knowledge of industry quality standards and testing methods
Leadership & Soft Skills
  • Excellent team leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Working Conditions
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals, heat, and industrial equipment
  • Use of PPE required
  • May include extended hours or weekends as production needs dictate
