Qualifications/Requirements:
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an electronics engineer and a key technical expert for the organization. The main responsibility is to ensure the electronic tools and equipment used to test Air Force systems are accurate, reliable, and effective. The incumbent will provide technical leadership and project management for activities such as studying complex systems, developing and writing test procedures, and engineering solutions for challenging technical problems in the field. Ultimately ensuring that Air Force technology performs correctly and safely, which is a critical contribution to overall mission success.
Key Duties:
The incumbent will be responsible for a range of critical engineering duties, including: Performing engineering analysis on complex electronic systems to determine testing, measurement, and performance requirements.
Designing, developing, and validating new engineering procedures, measurement techniques, and testing methodologies to solve complex technical problems in areas like Radio Frequency (RF)/microwave, Alternating Current and Direct Current (AC/DC), and digital electronics.
Managing the full lifecycle of technical projects, including defining requirements, overseeing procurement, conducting analysis, and validating system performance.
Conducting research and analysis to advance measurement capabilities and leading projects to implement innovative technical solutions for electronic test systems.
Providing expert engineering consultation and technical support on electronic measurement science to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
Experience with metrology and measurement science is highly desired

KSAs: Knowledge of professional electrical engineering concepts, practices, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories and principles to project development and execution. Knowledge of testing and evaluation sufficient to apply experimental theories and new applications to issues and provide technical advice and direction in support of electrical and electronic systems, subsystems, and equipment, particularly within the domains of Low Frequency Electronics, Radio Frequency/Microwave, and/or Electro-Optics/Photonics. Knowledge of planning and program management principles. Ability to devise and evaluate criteria for design approaches, assess the impact of new technology on current systems, and communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing.
