Job description

Overview

Responsible for engaging in face to face, phone, and electronic sales while utilizing exceptional customer service and sales skills to meet or exceed company sales and margin goals. Responsible for maintaining a stocked and neat department.


Responsibilities

  • Extensive knowledge of product features including any associated sales tools, programs, procedures, etc. for area of responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of the applicable state(s) building codes as it relates to the products
  • Work to meet prospect customers’ needs
  • Develop a continuous business relationship with our customers and vendors
  • Effective suggestive and upgrade selling and add on sales
  • Effective closing technique
  • Quote follow up - quote to order conversion
  • Share expertise with others
  • Maintain a neat, clean store and counter appearance
  • Practice good merchandising including setup and traffic flow
  • Maintain inventory levels and notify appropriate person of stock outs
  • Rotate stock and manage shrink
  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications

  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Proficient keyboard and computer skills including Microsoft office and other Company and discipline specific software applications
