Job Title: Project Controls Engineer (Scheduler)
Department: Project Controls
Status: Regular Full-Time Position – Exempt/Salary

Position Value Proposition:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Controls Engineer (Scheduler) to support our field operations team on-site. This role is essential in driving schedule performance, supporting productivity planning, and providing accurate reporting to both internal teams and clients. The ideal candidate brings strong scheduling expertise, field coordination skills, and the ability to anticipate and mitigate schedule risks across complex industrial construction projects.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.

  • Lead 3-week lookahead planning sessions with superintendents, general foremen, and engineers.

  • Track and forecast labor requirements and resource usage throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Maintain and verify quantity tracking and input into project budget systems.

  • Provide accurate, timely reporting to both internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Support the Project Manager with schedule-based cash flow projections, forecasting, and invoicing.

  • Facilitate subcontractor pre-mobilization meetings to ensure schedule alignment.

  • Lead weekly subcontractor coordination and progress review meetings.

  • Identify schedule acceleration opportunities and productivity improvement initiatives.

  • Monitor subcontractor performance and report on schedule deviations.

Qualifications:
Education & Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

  • Equivalent field or scheduling experience will be considered.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of scheduling/project controls experience on heavy industrial construction projects.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of construction methods, field operations, and scheduling best practices.

  • Able to read construction drawings, specifications, and resource plans.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Proficient in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and MS Office Suite.

  • Experience with Navisworks is a plus.

Physical/Site Requirements:

  • This role is site-based with daily construction site walks required.

  • Must be able to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
