Operations Manager (Off Shift)

Are you an experienced manufacturing leader looking for an opportunity to take ownership of plant operations during off-shift hours?


We're seeking an Operations Manager to lead manufacturing operations across production, quality, maintenance, and warehouse functions within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This is a highly visible leadership role with significant autonomy, responsible for ensuring the facility operates safely, efficiently, and profitably during nights and weekends.


The Opportunity

As the senior operational leader on shift, you'll be responsible for coordinating all manufacturing activity, supporting department leaders, and acting as the primary escalation point for operational issues. You'll play a critical role in driving performance, developing teams, and ensuring operational excellence across the facility.


Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support off-shift teams across Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Warehouse operations.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all operational escalations and manufacturing activities during non-core hours.

• Ensure staffing levels are optimized to support production requirements and business objectives.

• Drive operational performance, productivity, and profitability through continuous improvement initiatives.

• Maintain compliance with all food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, including GMP, SQF, and HACCP standards.

• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and safety across all departments.

• Support employee development, coaching, performance management, and engagement initiatives.

• Lead operational meetings and ensure effective communication between shifts and departments.

• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and enhance overall plant performance.


What We're Looking For

• Proven leadership experience within food manufacturing operations.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.

• Strong background managing teams within a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

• Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

• Knowledge of quality systems, food safety standards, and manufacturing best practices.

• Experience with SAP, ADP, Ignition, Mobysis, and Microsoft Office is preferred.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and lead effectively with minimal supervision.
