About the role

Nova Biomedical is looking for an Electrical Manufacturing Engineer to work within the Manufacturing Engineering Department at their Norwood facility. The candidate must provide continuous improvement and sustaining engineering support, as well as the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and systems issues. The candidate will also need to collaborate with Production, Quality, and other Operations personnel, as well as the R&D Department, to bring new products into manufacturing environment. History with Medical Devices is a plus.

What you’ll do

  • Provide technical support and assistance to the Production, Quality, and Purchasing Departments.
  • Test, debug, and improve various electro-mechanical components associated with the instruments produced.
  • Design electro-mechanical Fixtures for production-line improvements.
  • Participate in design-failure investigations that may impact risk assessments, hazard analyses, and FMEA’s.
  • Lead activities associated with Supply Chain and End-of-Life components.
  • Process ECOs for Cable/Harness drawings, Schematics, Manuals, Procedures, and Component changes. Update documentation using the company’s change management system.
  • Identify and specify required equipment and subsystems to improve new and existing manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with Electrical and Software / Firmware Departments.
  • Create and modify Schematics and PCBs using Altium and/or Cadence OrCAD software packages.

What we are looking for in you

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be team-oriented and possess a strong commitment to Quality.
  • Highly-proficient at creating, interpreting, modifying, and evaluating schematics and system diagrams.
  • Previous experience with Motors, Controllers, Power Supplies, and Displays.
  • Knowledge of Regulatory Compliance, EMI, and Safety testing.
  • Experience in managing integration of software, firmware, electrical, and mechanical systems (in depth understanding of system components, functions, and mechanical, electrical, firmware and software interactions with other components.)
  • Experience with programming using Visual Basic, VBA, C, Python, etc.; as well as with serial communications (RS-232, I2C, SPI); is beneficial.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a time-sensitive production environment.
  • Excellent electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve equipment problems.
  • 5+ years’ experience recommended
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical / Industrial engineering

Physical Requirements for this role include:

  • Must be able to stand, walk, and work in a Production environment for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Work Location: Onsite in our Norwood Facility

Targeted Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000/year.
