The School of STEM Department of Electrical Engineering Technology at Vermont State University invites applications for a Part-Time teaching position for Fall 2026 (August 21 - December 18, 2026).
The course to be taught is ELT 1015 Introduction to Engineering.
The School of STEM Department of Electrical Engineering Technology at Vermont State University invites applications for a Part-Time teaching position for Fall 2026 (August 21 - December 18, 2026).
The course to be taught is ELT 1015 Introduction to Engineering
- 3 hours of Lab per week, 2.01 teaching credits per semester
- ELT 1015 S01 is taught on the Williston, Vermont campus
- ELT 1015 S02 is taught on the Randolph, Vermont campus
This course facilitates a successful transition to college and to engineering strategies and tools needed as a freshman in ECET programs. It focuses on orientation to college, academic success strategies, professional development, and an introduction to a degree program. Topics include student rights and responsibilities; grading and graduation requirements; campus/site resources; time management; note taking; introduction to career opportunities; and program-specific topics. The course provides hands-on experience using technical software and creating technical documentation using many different software programs, including Word, Excel, MATLAB, and Multisim. Topics include terminology; layout; chart creation; effective chart usage; and integrating text and graphics.
Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a Master's degree or better in Electrical Engineering or, a related field or equivalent experience in the field. Teaching experience at the college level is preferable.

Salary:
Based on credits previously taught per the VSC-VSCPTF Bargaining Unit Agreement.
Budgeted Wage for this Position: Faculty Load 2.01 Workload credits; minimum starting salary is $1648 per workload credit.
