Job description

Heavy Industrial Construction
Nevada Preferred | Arizona, Utah & Idaho Considered

Colony Construction is a growing General Contractor specializing in industrial and heavy industrial construction. We're looking for a Project Coordinator who is organized, communicates clearly and wants to build a long-term career in construction project management.

This role is ideal for someone with construction coordination experience and a solid understanding of RFIs, submittals, shop drawings and project documentation. If you enjoy working closely with Project Managers, field teams, consultants and subcontractors while helping keep projects organized and moving forward, we'd like to hear from you.

You'll have the opportunity to work in a collaborative, down-to-earth environment where decisions are made quickly, communication is straightforward and people are trusted to do their jobs well. As Colony continues to grow throughout the U.S., you'll gain hands-on experience supporting industrial projects and play an important role in that growth.

You'll likely be a great fit if you have (Must haves...)

  • 2-5 years of construction or project coordination experience.
  • An Engineering degree, Construction Management degree or relevant diploma is preferred.

This experience includes:

  • Experience coordinating RFIs, submittals, shop drawings and project documentation.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and document control processes.
  • Experience supporting procurement, scheduling and subcontractor coordination.
  • The ability to stay organized, manage multiple priorities and follow through on outstanding items.
  • Clear, confident communication with Project Managers, field teams, consultants, subcontractors and clients.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction project management software.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required and to work full-time on site during certain projects, including rotational schedules, for example, 14 days on / 7 days off. Additional compensation is provided for rotational assignments.

Nice to Have

  • Heavy industrial construction experience.
  • Experience working for a General Contractor.
  • Experience supporting structural steel and/or pre-engineered metal building projects.
  • Experience working on an active construction site.
  • Familiarity with change orders, procurement and contract documentation.
  • Experience supporting projects from preconstruction through closeout.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support projects from award through closeout while helping keep information, documentation and communication organized.
  • Coordinate RFIs, submittals, shop drawings and document control.
  • Maintain current drawings, specifications, logs and project records.
  • Support procurement and track material and equipment deliveries.
  • Assist with subcontractor, supplier and consultant coordination.
  • Prepare meeting minutes and track action items.
  • Support project schedules, milestone tracking and progress reporting.
  • Assist with change orders, purchase orders and contract documentation.
  • Coordinate communication between Project Managers, clients, consultants, subcontractors and field teams.
  • Help prepare project reports and client documentation.
  • Support project closeout, including deficiency tracking, turnover documents, warranties and final records.
  • Spend time at project sites to support coordination and understand field conditions.
  • Identify missing information or coordination issues before they affect the work.

In Your First Year

  • Become a trusted member of the project delivery team.
  • Build strong working relationships with Project Managers, Superintendents, clients, consultants and subcontractors.
  • Gain hands-on experience across multiple stages of heavy industrial construction.
  • Take ownership of core project coordination responsibilities.
  • Develop a stronger understanding of drawings, specifications, procurement and field execution.
  • Help improve the flow of information between the office and project sites.
  • Build the experience needed to take on larger projects and increased responsibility over time.

Why Colony

Colony Construction is a growing contractor where people are trusted to make decisions, take ownership and work collaboratively. You'll work alongside experienced construction professionals on challenging industrial projects while helping build the company's presence in the U.S.

Depending on the project, you'll work from home with regular travel or be based full-time at site during construction. When rotational site assignments are required, additional compensation is provided.

If you're looking for an opportunity to build your construction career, gain heavy industrial experience and grow with a company that's just getting started in the U.S. market, we'd love to hear from you!
