Reporting to the Director of FC Optimization, this leader will define the long-term PMO vision, establish portfolio governance, and lead a high-performing organization responsible for delivering the company's most critical capital, automation, launch, network optimization, and operational transformation initiatives.
This role extends beyond program delivery. The Associate Director is accountable for creating the operating system that enables execution across the fulfillment network—building governance, developing organizational capability, influencing executive decisions, and creating scalable mechanisms that support rapid business growth. The role partners directly with Sr. Directors, Directors, and cross-functional executives to align strategy, resources, and execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and own the multi-year PMO strategy and roadmap aligned to Fulfillment Network and enterprise objectives.
  • Own governance of the enterprise project portfolio including FC launches, capital projects, automation, engineering programs, network optimization, and central initiatives.
  • Lead portfolio prioritization, ensuring resources are allocated to the highest-value initiatives.
  • Chair executive governance forums, portfolio reviews, stage-gate approvals, and quarterly business reviews with senior leadership.
  • Establish enterprise PMO standards, methodologies, KPIs, reporting, RAID management, and operating rhythms across the organization.
  • Create executive dashboards providing insight into portfolio health, financial performance, resource capacity, dependencies, delivery risk, and ROI realization.
  • Serve as strategic advisor to executive leadership by translating portfolio insights into investment recommendations and business decisions.
  • Lead organizational change management for large-scale transformations and ensure operational readiness across functions.
  • Build strategic partnerships across Operations, Engineering, Technology, Finance, HR, Safety, Supply Chain, Transportation, Procurement, Product, WMS, and external partners.
People Leadership
  • Lead and develop a team of Senior Program Managers, Program Managers, Project Managers, and PMO professionals.
  • Own organization design, workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development.
  • Establish performance expectations and a culture centered on accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer obsession.
  • Mentor leaders and build organizational capability in strategic program management.
Business & Financial Leadership
  • Partner with Finance to develop Annual Operating Plans (AOP), capital planning, business cases, investment prioritization, and benefits realization.
  • Provide executive oversight of multi-million-dollar capital portfolios and ensure delivery against budget, schedule, and expected business outcomes.
  • Define portfolio-level success metrics including ROI, NPV, payback, schedule adherence, operational readiness, productivity improvements, and risk exposure.
  • Drive executive vendor governance and strategic supplier performance for key programs.
Strategic Scope
  • Fulfillment Center launches and expansions
  • Warehouse automation and robotics deployments
  • Capital engineering programs
  • Network optimization and capacity expansion
  • Supply chain transformation initiatives
  • Digital transformation and AI-enabled operating mechanisms
  • Enterprise PMO capability development
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Construction Management, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years leading managers, program managers, or PMO teams.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise portfolios with significant capital investment.
  • Experience influencing executive leadership and driving decisions without direct authority.
  • Exceptional executive communication, strategic thinking, and organizational leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
  • PMP, PgMP, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, or equivalent certifications.
  • Experience in fulfillment, logistics, manufacturing, warehouse automation, or large-scale operations.
  • Experience with Asana, Jira, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Power BI, Tableau, and portfolio management systems.
Success Measures
  • Enterprise portfolio delivered on time, on budget, and aligned to strategic priorities.
  • PMO maturity and governance adoption improve across the organization.
  • Executive stakeholder confidence and decision velocity increase.
  • Launches achieve operational readiness and stabilization targets.
  • High-performing PMO organization with strong succession pipeline.
