Senior Electrical Engineer / Project Manager

We're partnering with a well-established South Florida MEP engineering consulting firm seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer / Project Manager to join its growing team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer who enjoys leading projects, mentoring team members, and designing complex building systems across commercial, residential, hospitality, and high-rise developments.

What You'll Do

  • Lead electrical design projects from concept through construction administration.
  • Design electrical systems for commercial, multifamily, hospitality, mixed-use, healthcare, and high-rise buildings.
  • Prepare construction documents, specifications, and permit drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Perform electrical load calculations and design:
  • Power distribution systems
  • Lighting systems
  • Emergency power systems
  • Grounding systems
  • Fire alarm systems
  • Low-voltage systems
  • Coordinate designs with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural teams.
  • Ensure designs comply with NEC, Florida Building Code, and applicable industry standards.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communication.
  • Review technical drawings and maintain quality standards throughout project execution.
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers while providing technical leadership.
  • Collaborate directly with clients, contractors, architects, and internal project teams.


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (Florida preferred).
  • 7+ years of electrical design experience within an MEP consulting environment.
  • Strong experience designing commercial building electrical systems.
  • Advanced proficiency with:
  • Revit
  • AutoCAD
  • Experience with:
  • Power distribution
  • Lighting design
  • Electrical load calculations
  • Construction documents
  • Permit drawings
  • Construction administration
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and applicable electrical codes.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Fort Lauderdale.

Preferred

  • Florida PE License.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
  • High-rise and luxury residential project experience.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and designers.
