About Thrive

Thrive is a leading full-funnel digital marketing agency supporting growth for some of North America's most ambitious companies. We evolve our services through disciplined learning, continuous improvement, and close partnership with our clients - regularly assessing what works, what doesn't, and where to raise the bar.

Our mission is to help companies grow sustainably. To do that, we've built deep expertise across performance marketing, brand marketing, digital design, and data and measurement, managing more than $5 billion USD in advertising spend over the past decade. Our work spans startups, scale-ups, and enterprise organizations, including Alo, Zoom, Slack, Uber, Asana, Masterclass, Snapchat, Change.org, and lululemon.

Our culture values curiosity, accountability, and thoughtful problem-solving. We challenge our teams to grow and take ownership of their work while respecting boundaries and long-term sustainability. Thrive is a place where experimentation is encouraged, learning is continuous, and people are supported to do high-quality work they're proud of - together.

The Opportunity

This is a build-and-grow moment. We're expanding our performance practice around lead generation, and the work comes with a portfolio most marketers only get to admire from the outside — think category-defining B2B software and technology brands, the kind of companies whose products you already use and whose growth story is still being written. You won't just be running campaigns for them; you'll be the strategic partner helping them figure out how demand generation compounds into pipeline, market share, and durable growth. That means owning the questions that actually move a business: how do we reach the right buyers earlier, turn intent into qualified pipeline, and build a lead engine that scales as they do? The tactical craft matters — funnel design, lead quality, CPL and lead-to-opportunity performance — but here it's in service of something bigger: shaping how some of the most ambitious brands in tech grow. If your best work has been measured in ROAS, purchases, or app installs, this likely isn't your fit. But if you think about demand gen as a growth strategy, not just a channel, let's chat.

The Role

Joining the Performance department (performance marketing) as our Performance Strategist, you'll ensure Thrive operates at peak performance by establishing efficient processes, implementing best practices, and fostering growth within your team in both technical and strategic areas. Your mission will be to develop and execute project growth initiatives, lead a high-performing team, and uphold our company philosophy. You'll focus on setting your team up for success by enhancing the systems used to build, maintain, and grow client relationships through continuous improvement of philosophies, programs, policies, and processes.

Working Within Our Values: At Thrive, we value teamwork and a "no politics" culture. This means that no matter your title, everyone is committed to contributing in whatever way is needed to ensure project success. Your role involves both high-level, strategic leadership and rolling up your sleeves for hands-on execution when required.

Your focus of responsibilities will be:

  • Domain: Recognized as an emerging leader in performance marketing at Thrive, you solve client challenges, elevate team skills, and drive program growth by enabling teams to excel in their projects and careers.
    • Example: You'll lead teams in the research, media planning and strategic roadmaps across mid-sized projects. You're responsible for mobilizing internal teams and working alongside them from inception through to hands-on, ongoing execution and optimization, while reporting to stakeholders on key performance indicators.
  • Client: Organizing and leading high-impact client relationship drivers, such as client onboards and business reviews, and using the latest and most cutting-edge methods and tools available to achieve successful outcomes.
    • Example: You lead strategic conversations with small to mid-sized clients 1:1, proactively engaging in and consistently monitoring client sentiment to ensure we're addressing any challenges and opportunities. You provide constructive feedback to team members and work with the senior operational team to address any resourcing, performance or economic shifts.
  • People: Elevating people you work directly and indirectly with to bring best-in-class solutions to projects through their thinking and execution. Supporting the development of team members to grow company performance expertise.
    • Example: You either manage team members directly or work closely with them in a mentor and advocate capacity. Operating at a manager level, you address any role performance challenges proactively and appropriately. You set team members up for success to continuously elevate their roles on projects, are an expert at giving feedback and approach difficult conversations with confidence and care.
  • Company: Lead a culture of project excellence in the Performance department by guiding daily interactions, developing initiatives, and aligning individual efforts with organizational goals. Monitor team workflow, use business intelligence tools to optimize people and project allocation.
    • Example: You lead team-level conversations and support initiatives that keep Thrive on the leading edge of performance marketing. You get buy-in, work through change management, and successfully collaborate with cross-functional support as needed.

We're committed to delivering an exceptional onboarding experience that will create a strong foundation for your launch in this role:

  • In your first 30 days you'll familiarize yourself with Thrive's tools and processes and begin onboarding to projects and teams across your department, identifying performance opportunities and building relationships.
  • In your first 60 days you'll be playing an active role across projects, collaborating with teams on day-to-day and longer term account initiatives. You'll begin developing processes and strategies to improve team and project success and sharing key insights with others.
  • In your first 90 days you'll be stepping into account leadership opportunities, providing support across project planning, strategy, client partnerships and team skills development.
Qualifications
  • You have executed, planned and maintained multi-channel, full funnel performance marketing accounts of $200k+ USD media spend per month at a consistently positive ROI for the client across multiple platforms at a time (e.g., Meta, Google Ads, YouTube, Display, Programmatic Platforms, TikTok, Twitter, Spotify and others).
  • You have experience directly collaborating with and delegating to junior team members as a senior account manager. You have contributed to the development of multiple team members by leading training and providing strategic guidance and project leadership to the point of developing others to the next stage of seniority / role level.
  • You have advanced analytical skills and are experienced in using visualization tools like Google Sheets, Excel, Google Data Studio, Tableau or similar platforms to pull, sort, analyze and draw insight from ad platforms, analytics, and / or business intelligence tools.
  • You've managed performance media across a range of business verticals and sizes (ecommerce, demand gen, etc), and have been responsible for pacing, forecasting and reporting the impact of performance media on overarching business goals.
  • You have successfully managed client and / or key stakeholder relationships (ranging in seniority) via weekly touchpoint meetings, quarterly business presentations and asynchronous communication channels (Slack, email, Asana, etc). You've resolved difficult stakeholder situations, keeping priorities organized and objectives aligned and have consistently received buy-in on strategic proposals or deliverables.
  • You have effectively communicated with clients on marketing concepts such as incrementality, KPI selection, attribution and business economics and have incorporated marketing measurement considerations into your strategic approaches.
