Job description

Summary

This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position based in Valley, Nebraska (on-site; not remote). Time will be split between delivering outstanding customer service and performing a variety of branch and bank operational duties. The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a consistent commitment to service excellence. Key responsibilities include processing routine financial transactions and providing ongoing account support.

This position also serves as a Traveling Customer Service Representative, providing coverage at any of the Bank’s branch locations to support staffing needs (e.g., employee absences, vacations, and peak service periods). Branch locations include Bennet, Brainard, Columbus, Decatur, Elkhorn, Emerson, Nebraska City, Stanton, and Weeping Water.

Responsibilities
  • Process transactions deposits and withdrawals, check cashing, account transfers, money orders, and cashiers checks accurately and in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Apply payments for loans, overdraft protection, lines of credit, and safe deposit boxes.
  • Maintain cash drawer within established limits; safeguard cash at all times; and balance/proof teller work daily to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with daily branch balancing, including night deposits, ATMs, ITMs, and cash recyclers, as applicable.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of First Nebraska Bank products and services and refer/cross-sell solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and route requests to appropriate personnel, as needed.
  • Provide customer support for First Nebraska Bank debit cards, online banking, and mobile banking.
  • Identify large cash transactions as defined by regulation and follow required procedures, including Currency Transaction Reports, as applicable.
  • Educate customers on Interactive Teller Machine use and provide technical assistance while utilizing video banking technology.
  • Support daily, monthly, and annual bank operations activities, including electronic banking services, ITM/ATM monitoring, fraud and risk monitoring, adjustments, and exception processing.
  • Follow security and audit procedures to minimize exposure to fraud and reduce operational risk.
  • Answer incoming calls and route callers to appropriate staff.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of customer information and all transactions.
  • Travel to and work from any First Nebraska Bank branch location, as needed, to provide customer service and operational support.
  • Maintain consistent service standards, policies, and procedures across all locations.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti Money Laundering (AML) requirements and all bank policies and procedures.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including active listening.
  • Strong customer service skills, including professional telephone etiquette.
  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Windows-based software.
  • Bilingual skills are preferred.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Cash-handling experience preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel between multiple branch locations, as needed.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules and work locations.
  • Valid Driver Licence
