Job Description: Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist

Position Title: EHS Specialist
Reports To: EHS Manager / Site Manager
Location: Automotive Manufacturing Site (On-site)
Company: Facilities Management Services

Position Summary

The EHS Specialist is responsible for supporting environmental, health, and safety programs within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing facility. This role focuses on promoting a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and assisting with the implementation of EHS policies and procedures. This position is ideal for candidates who are new to the safety field and looking to build hands-on experience in an industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support daily safety operations across the facility, ensuring compliance with company policies and client-specific requirements
  • Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and observations on the production floor
  • Assist in identifying hazards and implementing corrective and preventive actions
  • Participate in incident investigations, including documentation and root cause analysis
  • Help maintain safety records, reports, and compliance documentation
  • Provide guidance and support to employees regarding safe work practices
  • Assist with onboarding and delivery of basic safety training for new hires
  • Monitor use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and reinforce proper usage
  • Partner with operations and site leadership to promote a strong safety culture
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support environmental compliance efforts as applicable
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associateโ€™s or Bachelorโ€™s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred

  • Strong willingness to learn and develop in the EHS field
