Job description

Join a dynamic healthcare environment as a Pharmacist specializing in acute care pharmacy operations. This contract role offers an opportunity to contribute directly to patient safety and medication management within a well-established hospital setting.
Location: Ozark, MO (Acute Care Pharmacy Floor)
Schedule: Evenings, 2:30 pm - 12:30 am, 7 days on/7 days off (may vary; guaranteed 36 hours weekly)
Assignment Length: 13 weeks, with a strong possibility of extension
Licensure: Missouri Pharmacist License required
Experience: Minimum 1 year; new graduates welcome to apply
EMR System: EPIC
Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and check medications, including kits, crash carts, prepack items, IVs, creams, insulin pens, and other pharmaceutical products using EPIC dispense prep.
  • Coordinate workflow in the central pharmacy to ensure efficient and accurate dispensing processes.
  • Oversee restocking and preparedness of code carts and other emergency medication supplies.
  • Collaborate closely with pharmacy technicians, guiding their workflow and ensuring tasks align with operational priorities.
  • Support central pharmacy operations while other pharmacists focus on order review within the EHR system.
Training:
  • Initial 2-3 weeks of targeted training focused on product verification and procedural integration, adjusted to individual capability.
Team Environment:
  • Join a central pharmacy team staffed by 5 pharmacists and 10 technicians during the day, and 2 pharmacists with 5-6 technicians on evening shifts.
  • This role acts as the primary pharmacist on the evening shift for central pharmacy operations, with indirect oversight of technicians but no direct supervisory responsibilities.
