Job Description SummaryWe are seeking an exceptional and self-motivated Principal Algorithms Engineer to join our growing R&D team at Becton, Dickinson and Company located in Irvine, California.Job Description

Responsibilitiesinclude:

  • Lead the development of advanced algorithms for patient monitoring using machine learning and signal processing techniques

  • Perform statistical data analyses to characterize performance of algorithms

  • Collaborate with clinicians to conduct clinical trials and publish scientific articles.

  • Collaborate with cross functional team on regulatory submissions and launching products

Qualifications Required:

  • PhD degree in electrical engineering, computer science, biomedical engineering, statistics, or relevant field is required.

  • Strong programming skills in Python or MATLAB is required.

  • Strong experience with deep reinforcement learning is required.

  • Strong experience with general machine learning and deep learning techniques (CNN, LSTM, Transformer, etc.) is required.

  • Strong experience in digital signal processing, mathematical modeling and algorithm development is required.

  • Strong statistical data analysis skill is required.

  • Highly motivated self-starter who is able to achieve results with minimal direction.

  • Experience working with biomedical time series data (arterial blood pressure, ECG, EEG, etc) is a plus.

  • Experience with control theory is a plus.

  • Knowledge of patient monitoring and human physiology is a plus.
