American First Funding is growing - and we're looking for an experienced Mortgage Sales Trainer to elevate our team's performance. In this role, you'll design and deliver engaging training programs that strengthen the skills, product knowledge, and sales confidence of our loan officers and support staff. You'll coach both new and experienced originators to master the mortgage process, exceed production goals, and deliver an exceptional client experience.

Responsibilities
• Develop and conduct training programs on loan products, sales techniques, compliance, and customer service best practices
• Coach and mentor loan officers to improve productivity, pipeline management, and closing ratios
• Evaluate team performance, identify skill gaps, and create customized coaching plans
• Collaborate with leadership to implement effective onboarding and continuing education programs
• Stay current on industry guidelines, loan options (FHA, VA, conventional, non-QM, etc.), and lender policies
• Create training materials, sales scripts, and job aids that enhance learning and retention
• Foster a positive, high-performance culture that aligns with the company's values and client-first philosophy
Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in mortgage sales, loan origination, or mortgage operations
• Proven success in training, coaching, or leadership within the mortgage industry
• Strong understanding of loan programs, compliance standards, and underwriting guidelines
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills - both one-on-one and in group settings
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to balance multiple training priorities
• NMLS license preferred but not required
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred
